Originally, internet site’s system management contacted DUNKSOFT for event management support system as a customer. Existing member management system (which runs only one Microsoft Access) taken as the case built on a new system was to integrate all of this.

Originally member event announcements were performed by using FAX. Then introduction to the system that can notify the events by e-mail is performed. Both of this systems and membership management systems existing were leading to paid work, such as the hassle of re-keying and re-checking. To solve this problem there were latest customer management software products were being used in Japan, a proposal with few implementations of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 (worldwide over 10000 companies already using) is made. Results suggested that the benefits of centralization in the high degree of operational management, flexible customization, internal and external responses, better quality of service and information system integration project is started.
Development concept is “Unification the information on the input”
There are two systems of member management and event management systems, system integrations, etc… So no individual was to enter their customer information systems. The information generated by the dual control would lead to a decrease in operational efficiency.
Moreover, it can adversely affect our response to problems and variety of services for corporate users and sites in cooperation with members as poor response stability of the event management system.

The necessary functionality was developed based on Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0, the existence of two systems are solved by replacing the current system with “CRM membership management system”, with replacing the consecutive flow of business such as admission application information from Internet site and annual fee to automate the registration fee for attendance to the event, email announcements and dual control of customer information. The result succeeded in raising the business efficiency.
Additionally, considering the security aspects and response surface, by ability to group servers to centralized data to run the system, we have secured a stable performance.
We have used core technology in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0. Our main focus was on flexible terms that can be customized. CRM (customer relationship management) as it is written on its name taking customers as a basis it was possible to construct the system which can meet the needs of our customers. The database software used in this project was Microsoft SQL server 2005. We used the features of SQL server for SQL Reporting Service to implement of variety of reports and other statistical data.
Also for organizers of events in order to achieve the automation of operations, our business logic developed in various implementations made possible. This business logic has been developed using .NET Framework (Development Language C#)
OS which became the basis of system operation is built on Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003, reducing the cost of software licenses by using a server based OS.

This is the company that was interested in our product which was “Management law for Access” and released in 1995. This company interested in our promotions and purchasing. By going to see an exhibition of such softwares with the president of company N, we are entrusted for upgrading the system.
< About the company >
Company N was founded in 1981. Company N is publisher of the Clinical Dialysis digestive system and publishes monthly subscribed magazine. It publishes 10 books in a year, also arranges CD-Rom (DVD). These are intended for digestive disorder physicians and their staff.
< System Transition Details >
In 1995, the N company made use of the office company of a major trading company and used it for mail order, stock management, branch sale commission and processing. Office computer was old and expensive, also it was causing some problems such as connection and slow use. At that time in Japan, for resolving those problems Windows-NT was widely accepted as a server and only PC was used in business. Language was developed for MS-Access 95.
After that, publishing process DM *1, Half processing*2, prepaid processing*3, barcode paying*4 have been added to features.
Since there was no knowledge of the publishing business, replacement was hard, Even at the beginning of transition period, office computer has broken and we had to use a new system. We matched the company’s fiscal year to the September and we planned to cut over, it is operated smoothly in the end.
Then, we have moved to Access 97. Furthermore, we used SQL server as a database engine and upgraded Windows Server 2003. At this time, all problems have been resolved completely by centralizing information. As an example the doctors(authors) who write manuscripts to magazines or books, will buy the same literature because literatures have their own pages and in this case payment was hard to control, then company has started to use our system, so there were no mistake in payment because of duplicated information.
We need to understand business itself for solution, so we always use “trial and error”. At the time of version upgrade, we understood the overall structure and redesigned the database, so we were able to do a quite ideal data modeling.
The interface in Access2000 is currently in Object-Oriented ADP. The database engine to SQL Server 2000 and Upgrade to Windows Server 2003 has been made. Ability to pay via barcode added last fall. Future issues is to move to Dynamics CRM.
